SAFETY:
Safety is our utmost priority. Before anyone even picks up a bow, we go through a four stage safety briefing. After the thorough briefing, every archer is instructed through their first shoot, no matter the back ground experience. These strict safety measures ensures that not only is everyone well guided, but that all the participants have an enjoyable time.
SAFETY EQUIPMENT:
A major component of any safety strategy is having the right equipment.
While we are still building and purchasing our archery equipment, there are some key safety equipment that all those participating in archery shall wear.
Finger tabs are worn on the fingers of the draw hand. These protect the fingers against the bow string.
Arm guards are worn to protect the arm against the fling back of the bow string.
OTHER EQUIPMENT:
There are many different bows out there. The one we favour is the recurve bow as it is a simpler to use, yet still provides a satisfying experience. Recurve bows are in fact the only type of bow allowed at the Olympic Games (compound are allowed at the Para-Olympic Games).
Arrows now a days are made primarily from aluminum, carbon, fiberglass, or wood. We teach every archer to be careful, and aware, of both ends, as both are fairly pointy, and can hurt.
As you can see we take our safety and equipment seriously. We take these things seriously so we can all have fun out on the range.
